Activity: Matching

How much 2D information is needed to capture the totality of a 3D object? Multiple orthographic views are needed to effectively communicate all of the details of a design, as very different 3D objects can have similar, if not identical, 2D views from one or more surfaces.

Match the sketch of the top view on the right with the 3D part on the left. Use the blue arrows to scroll through the images. You must attempt to match all of the images before you can click the "Check My Answers" button on the bottom. If you do not get all of the images matched correctly you can either click the "Show/Hide Answers" button to see the correct matches, or you can click the "Reset Quiz" button to try again.
