Registration
Registration comes first, entering patients into the system for care
and ensuring their basic information, such as name, date of birth, and
insurance information, is documented.
Triage
Triage follows registration, prioritizing patients based on the
severity of their condition and allocating resources appropriately.
Preliminary Testing
After triage, clinicians gather initial data - such as vital signs -
in preliminary testing.
Evaluation
After preliminary testing, the physician conducts a thorough
evaluation to assess the patient's symptoms and determine the next
steps.
Diagnostic Workup
Following the evaluation, the physician may order more in-depth
diagnostic tests - like imaging or lab work - to confirm or refine the
suspected diagnosis.
Admission/Discharge
Finally, the physician decides whether the patient needs to be
admitted for further care or discharged with instructions and
follow-up plans.
